Cambodia firmly rejects Thailand’s baseless accusation, made to foreign diplomats yesterday in Bangkok, falsely claiming that Cambodia initiated the current border conflict.

The truth is that, in every instance of past tensions, it has been the Thai side that instigated the situation by repeatedly encroaching on Cambodian territory and violating Cambodia’s sovereignty. Cambodian forces have acted only in self-defense and with proportional force to protect the nation’s territorial integrity.

Moreover, it is Thailand that continues to violate the ceasefire, further escalating the situation.
